At TAP India, work is a service for the whole. It is our way of paying gratitude to the immense number of gifts that all of us have received knowingly and unknowingly. Besides the visible outer change in our communities, our work helps us in bringing about the necessary but invisible inner growth. We have been honoured by volunteering commitments from people from all over the world. Contributing their time, energy, and skillsets, they have made significant contributions in various capacities and helped us improve our work.

After initially making contact with Sakshi from Australia, I arrived in India with the intention of volunteering at one of the learning centres in Gurgaon. Little did I know I’d end up working with TAP India in designing an early childhood education program and supporting the planning and implementation of a teacher training program!

I have learnt so much from this experience both personally and professionally. As a teacher in Australia, I am always striving to provide the very best for the children in my class. However, knowing that I could contribute to making a difference in the lives of hundreds of children by taking part in this project was truly something special.

I was fortunate to meet some highly motivated people along the way, namely Ankit Chhabra from TAP India. It was wonderful to work alongside someone who shares my passion for and recognises the importance of promoting early childhood education. I am looking forward to continuing my connection with TAP India and Sakshi, and their mission to improve the learning and lives of some of India’s most marginalised children.
